LEAP: The revolution is underway

Business

Through CFM International, Safran Aircraft Engines and GE are developing LEAP, an entirely new baseline turbofan engine that will power the next generation of single-aisle commercial jets.Scheduled to enter service in 2016 on the Airbus A320neo and COMAC C919 and in 2017 on the Boeing 737 MAX, the LEAP engine will offer improvements that go far beyond anything CFM has brought to market to date. LEAP will improve specific fuel consumption by 15%, cut emissions by 50% compared to the current CAEP/6 standards and compliant with the future Chapter 14 noise regulation.
