Electric taxiing for greener aircraft

Reducing CO2 emissions – even when the aircraft is taxiing on the ground – is the challenge that Safran Landing Systems is embracing with its Electric Taxiing system! This wheel drive system enables an aircraft to travel on the ground using neither reactors nor tractors, limiting kerosene consumption and helping to reduce its environmental impact. Dominique Onfroy, R&T project lead engineer at Safran Landing Systems, explains.
