Our commitment to citizenship
Facilitating professional and social integration is the cornerstone of Safran's patronage policy through its Foundations and the many initiatives across the Group. Support for talented young musicians making their professional debut, social and professional assistance for young people with disabilities or from disadvantaged backgrounds, equal opportunities through education: several hundred patronage projects and initiatives have been supported to date. Safran’s commitment to society is one of the four pillars of the Group’s CSR strategy.

Each year, financial and material donations and employee support from Safran companies help numerous associations and local communities. In 2023, more than 630 citizen actions were carried out by all companies on sites and their employees around the world. These initiatives focused on different themes including health, the environment and disability.
The Safran Corporate Foundation for Integration
The Safran Corporate Foundation for Integration works to support young people with disabilities and from disadvantaged backgrounds. Its work focuses on professional integration projects delivered by associations with an awareness of the difficulties faced by young people for whom professional integration is difficult or impossible, and the specific circumstances for disabled young people, helping them to find jobs in everyday environments. A significant effort is also made to deliver social integration projects, as an individual integration project can only really succeed when all possible difficulties are taken into account. Housing, culture and sport are, in the eyes of the Foundation, key areas of action for these young people; they are also often effective entry points for reintegration.

Firmly believing in the importance of education in allowing people to achieve their potential, as well as its role as a vector of integration and equal opportunity, Safran supports practical educational initiatives. Its actions, representing nearly €90,000 in 2023, are focused on improving the acquisition of mathematical and scientific knowledge.

A unique arts patronage scheme: Safran's Corporate Foundation for Music supports talented young musicians as they start their professional journeys to become leading lights in the classical music world of tomorrow. It has provided several generations of young people with tailored help to help them make their way in a changing music industry: scholarships, support for first recordings, assistance in acquiring instruments. It also organizes an annual competition to award the Safran Foundation Prize for Music. The brilliant pianist Virgile Roche was 2020's winner. Nearly 150 artists have received support since 2005. The Foundation's work also involves live performance, which is vital for these young people: the Foundation has formed partnerships (some of them long-term) with a number of associations and institutions to give them opportunities to perform before audiences.
