Combating corruption

For several years, Safran has implemented a comprehensive program to prevent and detect corruption-related risks. Built around a zero-tolerance approach, the program targets all forms of corruption, including influence peddling, bribery, and favoritism. This commitment is backed by a code of conduct that’s accessible to everyone.

100 %
of senior executives received anti-corruption training in 2024

In 2012, Safran was the first CAC 40 company to obtain ADIT certification from the French agency for dissemination of technological information. In 2023, Safran received ISI 37001 certification (anti-corruption management system)—an international benchmark that guarantees our legitimacy in terms of ethics and transparency. This certification attests to the relevance of the processes implemented by the Group and recognizes the efforts made to align its rules and procedures with international standards.

By 2024, 100% of senior executives received anti-corruption training.

Safran complies, without exception, with all regulations applicable to its export and import activities involving military or dual-use technologies. The Group has also defined common requirements for all its companies concerning the control of exports and re-exports towards third countries. These requirements form Safran’s compliance standard, which is structured into nine areas of compliance. The proper implementation of this standard is regularly verified through audits. In addition, Safran has established a dedicated organization to ensure ongoing compliance with all applicable regulations.

Whistleblowing processes accessible to all

If an employee, customer, supplier, or any other external stakeholder is concerned about a situation or behavior that may contravene the Group’s principles and commitments, Safran has created dedicated whistleblowing networks to report:

  • any alert or concern involving crimes, offenses, threats or harm to the public interest, and violations or attempted concealment of violations of international, European Union, or laws and regulations. You can also report acts of fraud, or any conduct that contradicts the values set out in Safran’s Ethical Guidelines (corruption, financial misconduct, conflicts of interest, human rights, fundamental freedoms, health and safety, environmental protection, etc.): click here to access the procedure
  • any deviation or non-compliance in the application of quality procedures and standards, particularly those that may impact aviation safety: click here to access the procedure
  • any vulnerability that actually or potentially affects Safran’s products, services, or IT networks: click here to access the procedure

Should a report be made in good faith, no disciplinary or discriminatory measures will be taken against the whistleblower, even if the facts reported are ultimately found to be inaccurate or unsubstantiated after review or investigation. Employees, occasional workers, and external contractors are encouraged to identify themselves when submitting a report. Their identity will be treated with the strictest confidentiality. However, in accordance with certain local regulations, anonymous reports may also be accepted. The Group is committed to taking all necessary measures to protect the identity of individuals who report or disclose information concerning any of the situations mentioned above. The identity of the person filing the report will remain confidential and will not be disclosed to the individual involved, unless the reporter has given explicit consent. All information gathered during the processing of a report will be handled in a confidential manner, in accordance with applicable legal obligations or judicial proceedings.

Commitment no.2

Reinforcing responsible practices across our supply chain and providing support to our suppliers

Through its responsible purchasing policy, Safran aims to engage with high-performing, reliable suppliers who strictly comply with all relevant national and international laws and regulations. Suppliers are expected to comply with international trade rules, environmental obligations, ethical and social standards, as well as health and safety requirements for individuals.

Safran’s responsible purchasing policy is guided by the Safran Responsible Purchasing Charter. This charter lays out nine core principles, including the promotion and respect of human rights.

Since 2024, Safran has been gradually deploying the EcoVadis solution to assess the CSR risk level of its suppliers. Those identified as having a higher risk level are assigned a specific CSR rating. EcoVadis is the solution recommended by the International Aerospace Environmental Group (IAEG).

In 2024, Safran received the “Responsible Supplier Relations and Purchasing” label for the second time, after first earning it in 2017. Awarded for a three-year period, this label is granted by the French Ministry of the Economy, Finance and Industrial and Digital Sovereignty. It recognizes French companies and public entities that demonstrate long-term, balanced relationships with their suppliers.

Safran remains committed to its suppliers. To strengthen this trust-based collaboration, the Group has signed several key agreements and initiatives:

  • Safran has been a member of the Pacte PME (SME agreement) association since 2010.
  • Safran has been a signatory of the “Responsible Supplier Relations and Purchasing” (RFAR) charter since 2010
  • In February 2019, Safran signed a bilateral agreement with the French Ministry of Armed Forces to support SME suppliers in the defense sector.
  • Moreover, since 2023, Safran has actively participated in the “Aero Excellence” initiative aimed at the entire aerospace and defense sector. This reference document brings together best practices and industrial performance standards to help the sector’s players meet future challenges and strengthen their competitiveness.

Safran engages its suppliers in its decarbonization process

In 2022, Safran launched the “TOP400” initiative, aiming to involve its key suppliers in a shared commitment to reducing carbon emissions. Each year, the Group hosts the Safran Supplier Days, the most recent edition of which was held in April 2025. During this event, Safran outlines its strategy for reducing its procurement-related greenhouse gas emissions and clearly outlines its expectations for supplier participation in decarbonization efforts. In 2024, Safran joined the Decarbonization Alliance, an initiative led by Pacte PME in France.
