Safran Foundation for Music: Meet Fedor Rudin

Born in Moscow in 1992, Fedor Rudin left Russia for Paris when he was two years old. The grandson of Russian avant-garde composer Edison Denisov, he studied under Svetlin Roussev in Paris, Zakhar Bron at the Cologne University of Music, and Pierre Amoyal at the Mozarteum University Salzburg.

Despite a disability, he’s pursuing his passion for aviation at Safran

"Disability should never be a barrier — you need to stay positive and keep pushing forward," he says. With this mindset, Abdelmadjid, 27, is turning his dream of becoming an aeronautical engineer into reality. "As a boy, I loved watching planes take off. I used to wonder how such a big heavy object could fly!" After high school, he went to ENAC — a French engineering school specializing in civil aviation — then got his first job as a flight dispatcher with an airline. A few years later, he decided to pursue a postgraduate degree in mechanical engineering.

Share buyback program

On May 24, 2017 Safran (Euronext Paris: SAF) announced its intention to implement a Euro 2.3 billion ordinary share buyback program to run over the two years following completion of the tender offer for Zodiac Aerospace shares. To date, Safran already contributed 18.4 million shares to its program for a total of 2.08 billion euros.
