Our More Electric Power Distribution Systems simplify aircraft wiring, architecture weight & cost
Simplified in-service reconfiguration through virtually wireless design and configuration tools
Can be a standalone product or installed on the Power Distribution Panel
Focus on the system’s main components
Electronic Data Management Unit (EDMU)
The Electronic Data Management Unit (EDMU) has been designed by Safran Electrical & Power to manage electrical loads and ensure the interface between the Electrical Power Distribution System (EPDS) and other aircraft systems.
The centralized architecture of the EDMU allows weight & cost savings as well as in service configuration flexibility in case of aircraft loads modification.
Solid State Power Controllers (SSPC)
Considered as the new generation devices for circuit protection, the Solid State Power Controllers (SSPC) protect the wiring while allowing distant loads management. This technology replaces multiple electro-mechanic components with an electronic board. This results in reduced wiring weight and complexity while enabling remote manual or automated power management.
Through their electronics characteristics, the SSPC can be fitted with additional functions including logic command based actuation, arc-fault detection, current monitoring, data transferring to the crew or to the maintenance systems…
We develop AC & DC current SSPC for low and medium power loads.
Circuit Breaker Panel
Our plug-in circuit breaker panel was developed for a broad range of aerospace applications. It offers an easy to maintain approach that offers significant weight savings, enhanced thermal efficiency and a readily customizable approach to circuit protection.
- Virtual wireless design: eliminates wire looms, busses, and mounting hardware
- 30% to 40% weight savings compared to conventional panels
- Operates 40°C cooler compared to conventional panels
