Safety Relief Valve (SSEI)
Safety Relief Valve (SSEI)
Safety Relief Valve (SSEI)
Mass 0.7kg
Fluid compatibility GHe, GN2, LN2
Operating cracking pressure 26.4-27.4 bar
Operating Flow rate Until 480g/s GHe
Internal Leakage < 1 Ncm3/s GHe @ 22 bar
The Safety relief valve (SSEI), part of the liquid He subsystem (SSHeL), main function is to ensure the quick depressurization of the Helium liquid tank in case of unexpected overpressure and in the nominal case, ensure the tightness of Helium tank.

Other function
The Safety relief valve (SSEI) is part of the liquid He subsystem (SSHeL) of Ariane 5 and Ariane 6 launchers. The SSHeL is designed to ensure the pressurisation of the liquid O2 tank of the cryotechnical main stage (EPC), propelled by Vulcain engine.
Design, development, assembly & testing of flow regulation valves for space launcher engines and stages.
Safran Aero Boosters specializes in flow regulation valves for space propulsion. With a strong focus on Research and Technology, the company is a partner on most future European launcher propulsion programs. Safran Aero Boosters’s equipment is developed under extreme conditions of temperature, pressure, vibration and flow and has demonstrated 100% reliability over 45 years. The company is able to hardness this high-level expertise to provide flow regulation valves (pneumatic/electric – linear/rotative) for most of propulsion systems on launchers.
