MTR390, the engine of Tiger attack helicopter
MTR390 is installed in all Airbus Tiger attack helicopter variants (HAP, HAD, and ARH). The development of the MTR390 is the result of a partnership between MTU Aero Engines, Rolls-Royce, ITP Aero and Safran Helicopter Engines.
Power range 1,250 to 1,450 shp
Engine monitoring Dual-channel FADEC (full authority digital engine control)
Unrivaled power-to-weight ratio
Designed to perform in the harshest of environments
Two versions of MTR390 are in service: the 2C fitted to the Tiger HAP, ARH and UHT variants, and the E, intended for the Tiger HAD. The MTR390 E is a 14% more powerful version of the MTR390 2C, enhancing the Tiger performance in hot-and-high conditions.
