Ultra compact data acquisition unit: CMA

CMA, an ultra modular and compact Data Acquisition Unit (DAU)

CMA is Safran Data System's best Commercial Off The Shelf solution for launchers & missile testing and telemetry. CMA benefits from a common highly ruggedized platform specially designed for the extreme environment of missiles while keeping high quality and accurate measurements.

Safran Data Systems' DAU is an ideal fit for data acquisitions in harsh environments and tiny areas. CMA has the smallest effective size per sensor ratio available and offers highly versatile acquisition modules to easily tailor the instrumentation of each specific use case. Acquisition modules perform highly accurate measurement, signal conditioning, serial interface, bus monitoring. Its functional modules also offer recording, GPS reception, tailored interfaces and built-in transmitter allowing an all-in-one-box implementation. The on-board processing module (OBP) can provide pre-processing of data and even fully-programmable command and control interfaces to an external system.

SDTX Safran Data Systems

SDTX - Transmitters

Get a reliable telemetry link in the extrem environment of a launcher thanks to SDTX transmitters.

SDTX Transmitters are the new digital telemetry transmitter family based on compact SDR based technology. It provides a broad support of existing and future standard : IRIG-106 and CCSDS.

SDTX’s form factor allows for stand-alone operation, or its insertion into a CMA or XMA stack for more compactness of the installation.

Supported bands of the transmitters are classical S and C telemetry band, but as well the Inmarsat L Band for enabling Satellite-based Telemetry on-board Launch Vehicle.

Safran Data Systems Electronically Scanned Antennas

Sparte e100, hybrid Flight Test Antenna based on Electronic Beam Steering Technology

The Sparte e100 is an hybrid antenna addressing the telemetry applications in S-Band, including hypersonic test articles.

The antenna is a combination of an electronic Beam Steering supporting any elevation from -5° up to +95° and a single-axis mechanical rotation of the patch panel providing unlimited azimuth.

Thanks to the dimension of the patch panel, the TM reception performance is similar to a 1.2m diameter dual axis antenna with much simpler mechanical design and simpler maintenance during the system lifetime.

Thanks to it’s extremely fast tracking, up to 60°/s in azimuth and almost infinite in elevation, the Sparte e100 is designed to be a ‘lock-on’ antenna, and is particularly fit for tracking high vertical speed targets like launch vehicles and missiles.

The antenna is completely closed with a radome, providing excellent protection against environmental conditions, i.e. wind, rain, dust…

It is available in fixed or shipborne version.

Sparte 300, a dual-axis antenna

The Sparte 300 series is a dual-axis antenna covering dish size from 1.8m (6 feet) up to 3.0m (10 feet). This antenna has been designed and deployed in the field for more than 10 years, delivered to customers for mission-critical applications where the telemetry reception is at stake.

The Sparte 300 series empowers users with a variety of applications, such as aircraft tracking and very high speed targets with high dynamics. The Sparte 300 can easily be installed on a road trailer that converts the antenna into a mobile version with very short set-up time. It can also be delivered as a shipborne version to secure an accurate tracking at sea.
