Safran Aerosystems inerting solutions are based on unique expertise in terms of system architecture for all types of aircraft. Safran Aerosystems works closely with its customers from product design to product certification.

Inerting Systems - tests

Testing and validation resources

Safran Aerosystems inerting systems benefit from testing resources developed in-house, including dedicated laboratories and validated digital models. They are subject to performance tests under extreme temperature conditions and to thousands of hours of endurance tests and flight simulations to demonstrate their robustness and reliability and to meet all aircraft qualification requirements.

Oxygen analyzer

Equipped with internal software, the oxygen analyzer developed by Safran Aerosystems enables the quality of the inert gas produced during each flight to be checked. It was also designed to avoid tedious maintenance operations and the management of false alarms. A unique, patented sequence automatically ensures that it is operating correctly. Before each inert gas measurement, the state of the analyzer probe and the measurement chain are checked using a source of ambient air. In the event of a signal drift, a calibration procedure is automatically activated.

ASM (Air Separation Module) at Paris Air Show

Air separation module

At the heart of the inerting system, the air separation module (ASM) separates the gases from the air and creates a nitrogen-enriched inert gas. To provide its customers with the most efficient systems, Safran Aerosystems cooperates with world-renowned partners specialized in polymer chemistry. The modules selected by Safran Aerosystems have already logged millions of flight hours on multiple platforms, thus proving their efficiency and reliability.
