The eTAXI solution is an electric taxiing system for the next generation of short- and medium-haul aircraft. This system is optionally installed on board the aircraft and is removable. It can also be offered for other platforms
Meet eTAXI
One concept, multiple benefits
eTAXI draws its energy from the auxiliary power unit (APU) or potentially from other available sources. It rotates the wheels of the main landing gear, allowing the aircraft to move autonomously on the ground with the main engines shut down and without the need for a tractor for pushback.
- Fuel savings for airlines: up to 4% fuel savings for flights of around 1,000 nm (nautical miles), as the main engines are not used for on-ground movements
- Lower fuel-related emissions: reduction in CO2 and NOx (nitrogen oxides) emissions of around 50%
- Better air quality thanks to fuel savings, resulting in lower pollutant emissions
- Reduced noise pollution thanks to the use of the APU instead of the aircraft's main engines
- Improved punctuality for airlines, benefiting passengers as the aircraft is no longer dependent on the availability of airport tractors
We are one of the first players in the aerospace industry to have developed this solution
