Mobile Testing Measurement POD (RF ATE), the mobile solution to measure and test Radio Frequency
The Mobile Testing POD developed by SDSI is the India’s first mobile vehicle-based RF measurement and test system. In operation, the vehicle moves around aircraft to perform Go/No-Go Tests on sub-systems. It includes GPS synchronized generation of analog, digital communication and RADAR signals.
The typical features than can be supported:
- Testing & Evaluation of Primary Radar & Secondary Surveillance Radar
- Testing of all sensors of ESM/ RWR system of Airborne surveillance system
- Testing of CSM and Datalink Sub-Systems CBDL and KBDL of Airborne surveillance system.
- Testing VUHF communication (with NI - PXI Instrumented in vehicle)
AEW & CS LRU Test System
Safran Data Systems India, with RF domain capabilities have developed one of the most advanced testing equipment as part of the AEW & CS (Airborne Early Warning and Control System) program led by the DRDO (Defence Research & Development Organization), this system is now the first Indian ATE capable of testing 50+ LRUs ! The AEW & CS LRU Test System is designed using COTS hardware. It has a customized RF switch matrix modules of (32X8 to 8X8 to 8X32).
The system includes advanced features generating detailed Test Reports with Statistical Analysis. OK/NOT OK tests are performed. Depending on Results, appropriate analysis is made to locate the problem/fault up to the lowest replaceable level.
TCE, Telemetry Channel Emulator: a complete simulation solution for telemetry systems
The TCE offers a solution that simulates the flight profile and propagation effects, acting as a virtual channel, so that the various parameters of the telemetry system can be adjusted to optimal levels for achieving the desired performance and finding any faults that are present.
It takes Inputs like PCM Encoder, Baseband/ IF Signal 70MHz, PCM Simulation and gives Outputs Signal in multiple frequency bands (L, S, C and X) as per the modulation scheme and link parameters, emulate channel effects between airborne transmitter and receiver and produce a resultant RF signal for feeding to subsequent processing by real-world telemetry receiving subsystems.

Safran Data Systems India provides the RIR ATE, a solution that includes different Soft Panels helping the user to simulate or measure signals of several types like sFPDP, MIL-STD-1553B, discrete timing and control, RS-232, and RF. The systems support different type of tests such as Power Consumption test, Display-Link Test, Tx link Test, Recorder Link Test, Ethernet Switch Link Test, LCS link Test, RF Monitoring Link test, Antenna Link test and many more.
The unique feature about this system is that the user can perform individual tests on LRUs as well as quickly integrate them in a rack and do a complete integrated test.
Secondary Surveillance Radar Rx/Tx Test solution
SDSI, ATE for secondary surveillance radars is created using NI PXI modular instruments and LabVIEW. This system saves 90% of the radar testing time compared to the manual connections of previous desktop instruments. It also saves 60% of the cost compared to other ATEs built with traditional instruments. The system supports different types of tests such as receiver tests (Dynamic Range, Bandwidth, Operational Sensitivity…) but also transmitter tests (Out Power, Out Power Mode & PRF Stability, Output Power Selection & Sectorization...).
Furthermore, the ATE allows different simulations such as Antenna Simulation (North Marker, Pulse Generation, and Azimuth Count Pulses Generation) and Target Signal Simulation (Single Target, Stationary Target, Trajectory Motion, and Multiple…).
