Safran Engineering Services offers a comprehensive package from conceptual assessments, certification plan and engineering, all the way to the STC approval on fixed-wings and helicopters. 

Its comprehensive engineering data package includes: all certification activities, safety assessments, design engineering and drawings, technical publications, installation support, test witnessing and coordination with major regulatory agencies.

 

From minor modification to STC project management

Safran Engineering Services teams have experience running minor changes / field approvals (design organization approval) or STC (Supplemental Type Certificate) projects on both fixed wing aircraft and rotorcraft, with the major airworthiness and safety authorities: FAA; EASA; TCCA; ANAC; CAAC; DCTA.

Airbus A350 & HB 550 Modernization Program

Safran Engineering Services was responsible for the design, development, integration and certification activities.

 

Safran Engineering Services took responsibility as the design authority to supply the full system architecture & integration, the electrical and mechanical design, ground & flight test support, as well as the technical publications.

 

The installation design and full integration of multiple systems included:

  • Sophisticated new glass cockpit with three display unit system
  • A two axis auto pilot system
  • New radio communication system
  • New radio navigation system

 

For the modernization of the A350 and HB A550 fleet of the Brazilian Army (AvEx), Safran Engineering Services also worked with the Brazilian military airworthiness authority (DCTA) to obtain the certification of all modernized systems.

ASPIRE 200 SATCOM System

Safran Engineering Services was selected by Honeywell for the STC development for multiple rotorcrafts.

Safran Engineering Services took responsibility as the design authority for the design, development, integration, installation, testing, tech pubs and STC approval under FAA, EASA and TC agencies. The activities included:

  • Electrical and mechanical design
  • Full system architecture and integration
  • Launch helicopter and MRO for the system installation
  • Ground test & flight test, including DAR/DER approvals
  • Certification & safety assessment
  • STC application with airworthiness agencies



The Aspire System was successfully installed, tested and STC issued for the multiple rotorcrafts such as: Augusta AW139, Sikorsky S-76, Sikorsky UH-60 and Bell-429.

Gulfstream G150

Gulfstream G150 Stowage MOD

Safran Engineering Services was responsible for interior modifications of a G150 aircraft.

Safran Engineering Services took responsibility as the design authority to supply the full system architecture & integration, the electrical and mechanical design, ground & flight test support, as well as the technical publications.

 

The main activities in this MOD included:

  • Reverse engineering of mechanical installation environment
  • Redesign of damage stowage and bulkhead 
  • Electrical design
  • Installation instruction
  • STC development

Airbus A330 Cabin Upgrade

Safran Engineering Services was responsible for cabin upgrade modifications of an Airbus A330 aircraft.

Safran Engineering Services took responsibility as the design authority to supply the full system architecture & integration, the electrical and mechanical design, ground & flight test support, as well as the technical publications for the following scope:

  • Adaptation of galley lights
  • Installation of deco lights
  • Design and installation of deco panels
  • Adaption of PSC
