Zahira Bouaouda appointed President of MATIS Aerospace

On July 3, 2019, Zahira Bouaouda was appointed President of MATIS Aerospace, a 50/50 joint venture between Safran Electrical & Power and Boeing, specializing in electrical wiring interconnection systems. She thus became the first woman to manage an aerospace company in Morocco.
Zahira Bouaouda began her career in 1997 as an auditor with Dorlian & Associés and then MCA & Associés. She joined KPMG Morocco in 2001 as a Senior Manager and joined MATIS Aerospace in 2006 as Finance Director, before becoming Operations Director in 2017.
Zahira Bouaouda, 43, holds two degrees (Business Administration and Management and Chartered Accountancy) from the Institut Supérieur de Commerce et d'Administration des Entreprises (1997 and 2005).

MATIS Aerospace is a joint-venture by Safran Electrical & Power and Boeing, specialized in Electrical Wiring Interconnection Systems (EWIS) for aircraft and located in Morocco, Casablanca, in the Nouasseur Technopole. It was founded in 2001 by three partners: Boeing, Safran Electrical & Power and Royal Air Maroc. Today, MATIS Aerospace operates a 8,500 square meters manufacturing facility and employs 820 full-time workers. It delivers over 110,000 wire bundles to its five customers every year, generating revenues over $75 million. Its performance is well recognized by its customers with 100% on time delivery and an excellent quality track record.
