Safran signs a thrust reverser services agreement for Kuwait Airways’ Airbus A330 jetliner fleet
Dubai, United Arab Emirates, January 23, 2018
Safran Nacelles has been selected by Kuwait Airways to provide unscheduled maintenance services coverage and asset management for thrust reversers on the airline’s Airbus A330 jetliner fleet powered by Rolls-Royce Trent 700 engines.
Safran Nacelles is the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) for Trent 700 thrust reversers, and the agreement with Kuwait Airways includes a guaranteed service level with access to a Middle East pool of thrust reversers.
This agreement with Kuwait’s flag carrier – announced today during the MRO Middle East conference at Dubai – will be backed by Safran Nacelles’ global Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) network. These resources include the component repair center-of-excellence at Aerostructures Middle East Services (AMES) – a joint venture of Safran Nacelles and AFI KLM E&M (Air France KLM Group), based in Dubai's Jebel Ali Free Zone, Jafza.
“We are fully committed to delivering services that meet Kuwait Airways’ needs,” stated Olivier Savin, Safran Nacelles’ Executive Vice President - Customer Support & Services. “Kuwait Airways’ decision to select Safran Nacelles is a great endorsement of our services, which combine world-class innovative solutions to ensure smooth operations for our customers’ fleets – from entry-in-service until aircraft retirement.”
Dr. Falah Salman, the Head of Kuwait Airways’ special assignment office at the engineering department, stated: “Safran Nacelles’ footprint in the region provides a very high level of support and services quality, delivering value-added maintenance coverage for our fleet. This convinced us to continue the working relationship, which has been built on trust, with Safran Nacelles as the thrust reverser OEM and our services provider. I am delighted we have chosen the asset management and unscheduled coverage package for our A330 fleet, and look forward for extensive collaboration on new aircraft joining Kuwait Airways’ fleet soon.”
