Safran Reosc, a subsidiary of Safran Electronics & Defense specializing in high-precision optics, and Loft Orbital, a global player in space infrastructure, announce the signing of a major contract for the supply by Safran Reosc of SEEING 230 Ident imagers, which will equip Loft Orbital’s next Earth observation satellite constellation.

Equipped with onboard artificial intelligence and state-of-the-art optical instruments, this constellation will offer real-time, high-resolution imagery, serving a wide range of strategic, economic, and environmental users. This contract also marks the launch of a series of imagers produced nationally, thereby strengthening France's technological sovereignty in the space sector. With a projected delivery rate reaching 10 instruments in 2026 and 20 in 2027, Safran Reosc is also engaging in an unprecedented production ramp-up.

Designed to address the new challenges of the space sector, the SEEING 230 Ident imager combines an ultra-compact format with high performance, delivering meter-class resolution while maintaining exceptional reliability. Its design choices guarantee perfect stability in the extreme conditions of space. As such, it stands out as one of the most high-performing and compact instruments on the optical high-resolution market.

“This contract with Loft Orbital confirms the relevance of our optical solutions for constellation operators. SEEING 230 Ident opens a new phase in the development of our imager range, with top-level performance serving a rapidly growing market. We are reaching a new milestone by offering innovative expertise to support the sovereignty and competitiveness of the French space industry,” emphasizes Aurélie Girou, President of Safran Reosc.

Pierre-Damien Vaujour, CEO of Loft Orbital, adds: “We chose Safran Reosc for the reliability and performance of its optical technologies, which perfectly align with our ambitions in Earth observation. This partnership also illustrates our desire to work with leading French manufacturers to develop a robust, agile, and sovereign space ecosystem.”

With this new order, Safran Reosc strengthens its position as a strategic supplier of advanced, ready-to-use, reliable, and competitive technologies, and Loft Orbital affirms its role as an industrial leader in meeting the growing challenges of sovereignty and performance in Earth observation.
