Safran launches NacelleLife™, a complete solution for aircraft nacelle maintenance services

Business

MRO Asia Pacific, Singapore, November 7, 2018

Safran Nacelles is launching NacelleLifeTM, its new range of services devoted to the maintenance of its nacelles. This new offering provides operators with a maintenance service that can be tailored to their specific requirements, from preparations for a jetliner’s entry into service, to major maintenance visits, all the way through to its retirement from operation.

NacelleLifeTM has been developed to help airlines maximize availability of their aircraft while minimizing maintenance costs. A number of high-quality, economical services are offered: spare parts supply and support prior to entry into service; on-site presence of a technical representative and online access to technical documentation at entry-into-operation; fleet management for operational continuity; scheduling of maintenance operations; and transition support for phase-out.

“NacelleLifeTM brings together the expertise of a world-leading nacelle manufacturer with our proactive, optimized services that anticipate and respond to customers' needs throughout the lifecycle,”explained Olivier Savin, Safran Nacelles' Vice President of Customer Support & Services. “It applies to our full range of nacelles, from legacy products to current production and upcoming nacelle systems – including those on the A380, A320neo and A330neo aircraft.”

In addition, NacelleLifeTM provides innovative maintenance solutions. One such solution is JetLife, a mobile app that provides the latest service bulletins (SBs) for an airline's entire nacelle fleet. With JetLife, customers can access these bulletins in real time, as well as additional information, such as pricing for each operation, the time required, and its benefits. They can also enter the operations completed for each aircraft, enabling Safran Nacelles to monitor their fleet and propose tailor-made maintenance services.

Another innovative solution is Presto, a non-destructive evaluation tool that uses infrared thermography to assess the effects of overheating of composite materials found in thrust reversers. This compact, portable tool is used for “underwing" diagnostics without the need to dismount the nacelle, significantly reducing aircraft on ground (AOG) time.

Safran Nacelles is present at Airshow China in Zhuhai on Safran’s booth #H4D1 from November 6 to 11.
