Sędziszów Małopolski, December 6, 2019

Safran Transmission Systems Poland announced the construction work on its future research and development center to design and test innovative concepts of aircraft accessory and transfer gearboxes. The investment project is being implemented with the support of EU funds and a co-financing agreement signed on December 6, 2019 at the Ministry of Funds and Regional Policy.

The financing agreement was signed at the Ministry of Funds and Regional Policy by Małgorzata Szczepańska, Director of the Department for Innovation and Development Support Programmes and Jan Sawicki, President of Safran Transmission Systems Poland.

Safran constantly works on developing innovative solutions to strengthen its market position and meets clients’ needs. The new Research and Development Center will be established on the premises of Safran’s Polish facility to support that goal. It will be used to design and test new architectures and new components for aircraft transmission systems. In addition, two Polish universities, Rzeszów University of Technology and the Silesian University of Technology, will work with Safran Transmission Systems Poland as partners and will participate in launching the Center.

The R&D Center construction works will start on March 2020 with an expected end-date by April 2021. Dozens of highly qualified design engineers will find employment at the new facility.

“Establishing the new Research and Development Center is yet another developmental milestone for Safran Transmission Systems Poland. We have been improving our production skills for almost 20 years and have now matured enough to start the next ambitious stage and add this forward-looking project to our core business. We are building a center of modern technological thought, and it will allow us to support the innovation effort made by Safran”, Jan Sawicki, President of Safran Transmission Systems Poland, said.
