Paris Airshow, June 16 2025,

On the first day of the Paris Air Show, Safran Electronics & Defense announced an international partnership with U.S.-based Trillium Engineering, a leader in compact, high-performance electro-optical systems (EOS). This collaboration will expand Safran's Artis range of electro-optical solutions, including a variety of stabilized camera turrets from 2 to 25 inches in size. Trillium’s product line enhances Safran’s established focus on large gyrostabilized gimbals by introducing smaller options that are especially suited to drones, light aircraft, and helicopters.

Both companies are recognized for their know-how in developing advanced solutions that are smaller, lighter, and more energy-efficient – qualities that are increasingly vital for modern aerial platforms. These advancements significantly enhance operational efficiency and mission versatility.

Trillium Engineering is renowned for its lightweight, high-performance electro-optical and infrared gimbals specifically designed for unmanned aerial systems (UAS) and other airborne platforms.  The company’s cutting-edge imaging technologies include high-definition EO and infrared sensors, laser designation, and precise geolocation capabilities. These advanced systems have been successfully integrated into various platforms, significantly enhancing intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) operations.

"The increasing complexity and diversity of operational requirements create a need for a broader range of electro-optical solutions" said Alexandre Ziegler, Head of the Defense Global Business Unit at Safran Electronics & Defense. " Partnering with Trillium Engineering enables us to extend our offering and effectively support a wide variety of platforms in this rapidly evolving context. Together, we are addressing the changing needs of armed forces as they face the new realities and complexities of the modern battlefield.”

Mark Mirelez, Chief Executive Officer of Trillium Engineering, said “Through our collaboration with Safran Electronics & Defense, Trillium Engineering's compact gimbal solutions extend their global accessibility, providing users with more mission flexibility and a clear path to achieving their objectives. “

This partnership underscores both companies’ commitment to delivering state-of-the-art technologies that meet the evolving needs of defense and security forces worldwide.
