Safran and Nexter sign a framework agreement on the new Geonyx™ family of inertial navigation systems

Nexter and Safran have signed a framework contract concerning Safran Electronics & Defense’s new Geonyx™ inertial navigation system. Nexter’s interest in this product demonstrates the relevance of Safran Electronics & Defense investments in research & technology, which allow to continue to innovate and to offer customers more competitive equipments.
This agreement reinforces Safran's position as a reference in the field of inertial navigation and artillery pointing systems and marks a new stage in its relations with Nexter.
Safran being an exclusive supplier of Nexter for Caesar howitzer of the French army, the SIGMA-30 inertial navigation system was proposed until now. This agreement signed with Nexter will enable Safran to propose, in France, but also for exports, a new generation of inertial navigation and artillery pointing system, offering optimized precision, fast deployment and life-cycle cost capabilities thanks to the exceptional reliability of the HRG Crystal™ technology patented Safran.
With this contract, Safran and Nexter take full advantage of the latest technological innovations in inertial navigation and artillery pointing system, inertial navigation system being a key element of the artillery target engagement chain.
