Management appointments at Safran

  • Sylvain Guiheneuf was named Senior Vice President, Risk Management and Insurance on October 1, 2016. He replaces Jean-Christophe Corde, who retired at the end of the year.
  • Jean-Paul Bonnet was named Group Chief Security Officer on January 2, 2017. He replaces Michel Pages, who retired at the end of the year.

 

Sylvain Guiheneuf started his career with the American oil company Conoco, based in Houston, Texas, where he worked from 1990 to 1995. He then held positions in a variety of sectors, including banking (Société Générale) and construction (Bouygues), often with a focus on international markets. He moved to the aerospace and defense sector in 1998, spending over nine years with Airbus (EADS at the time), mainly as a legal expert in charge of mergers & acquisitions and restructuring. Sylvain Guiheneuf joined Safran as Corporate Secretary and Trade Compliance Officer for  Safran Electronics & Defense (Sagem at the time) on September 1, 2007.  From July 2011 to July 2013, he was Secretary to the Board of Directors and Chief of Staff for the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Safran. In August 2013, he was named Safran Vice President, Integration, in charge of coordinating the integration of acquisitions, strategic partnerships and restructuring operations within the Group.

Sylvain Guiheneuf, 51, holds a post-graduate degree in international and European law from the University of Paris 2 (1990).

 

Jean-Paul Bonnet started his career with the French Ministry of Defense as an officer in the paratroop corps. He worked at the ministry from 1983 to 1998, first holding various operational positions, then working for the French intelligence service on international security issues. In 1998, he moved to Alcatel as deputy directory of security, subsequently being named Vice President for Security, a position he held from 2000 to 2007. He joined BNP Paribas in 2007 as Global Head of Security for the Group, a position he held until this latest appointment.

Jean-Paul Bonnet, 55, graduated from the French officers’ training school Saint-Cyr (1982) and holds a degree from the Institut Français de Gestion business school.
