First Russian operators’ symposium Safran Helicopter Engines

Business

On May 24, 2017 in Moscow, on the eve of the opening of HeliRussia, an international exhibition for the helicopter industry, Safran Helicopter Engines Germany held its first symposium for Russian operators, with support from its official distributor in Russia: the company Technotrade.

Russia is an important, strategic market for Safran Helicopter Engines, since 220 engines produced by it are in operation in this region. This, the first symposium on Russian soil, brought together 40 regional clients, representing the interests of 18 companies. Among them were the National Guard of Russia, the launch client for Ка-226Т helicopters, which are equipped Arrius 2G1 engines; the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Moscow police; the airlines RusAir, AeroGeo, and UTair; and the Moscow aviation center of the Ministry of Emergency Situations. Industry partners Kamov and Airbus Helicopters Vostok were also present.

The symposium was held entirely in Russian, something highly appreciated by participants. The morning plenary session involved presentations relating to the Safran group’s role in Russian industry; new solutions designated for helicopter-building companies from various countries around the world, including the Kamov Design Bureau; and technical, commercial, and logistical resources for supporting Russian clients.

After a break, all participants were provided the opportunity, in working groups, to voice their opinions about the level of support that they are receiving at present and to share new ideas and ask questions of technical specialists.

In celebration of this event and in connection with delivery of the 100th Arriel 2 engine to Russia, congratulations were given to Mr. Dubrovin, the commercial director of Heliport Moscow.

This, the first symposium held for Russian clients, showed that in Russia, as in other countries, the “Focused on you” principle is the company’s primary obligation.

Safran Helicopter Engines is the world's leading manufacturer of helicopter engines, with more than 72,000 produced since being founded. It offers the widest range of helicopter turboshafts in the world and has more than 2,500 customers in 155 countries.
