Syrlinks joins Safran Data Systems
Acquired in 2022 by Safran Electronics & Defense, Syrlinks takes a new step forward by joining Safran Data Systems on January 1st, 2025, through a merger by absorption. This operation reinforces Safran's ambition to consolidate its position as a leading equipment supplier in the space sector.
From that date, Syrlinks becomes a product brand, recognized for its electronic solutions on board satellites, and enriches the portfolio of Safran Data Systems, alongside its ranges of ground stations (LEGION, ORION, SPARTE) and the world reference in space modems, Cortex.
Founded in 2011 in Cesson-Sévigné, near Rennes, Syrlinks has become a referebce in radio communication and radio navigation technologies, mainly in New Space.
A trusted partner of major satellite manufacturers and integrators such as Airbus Constellations Satellites, Thales and Loft Orbital, it has contributed to iconic programs such as the OneWeb mega-constellation, the Internet of Things (IoT) program of Kinéis and many other Earth observation projects.
By integrating Safran Data Systems, Syrlinks brings its expertise in satellite-based embedded communication systems, thus strengthening Safran's control over the entire Earth-Space communication link, from the ground segment to the satellites.
Integrated and interoperable solutions
The products developed by Syrlinks are fully interoperable with the solutions of Safran Data Systems, offering our customers end-to-end communication links that are easy to implement and adapted to the growing challenges of the space sector.
This strategic merger brings together expertise in radio-frequency telecommunications used for satellite control from the ground segment, as well as for bringing down to earth the volumes of data captured by satellites during their mission.
With its strong international presence, Safran will also continue to support the development of this activity worldwide, particularly in the American market.
This change within Safran Data Systems marks a new milestone in our development. I am delighted that our two companies are joining forces, as we share the same ambition: to be the leader in Earth-space communications.
