Safran and Polytechnique Montréal set up two new research chairs last April, with a view to exploring a new generation of lighter aircraft, building on their decade-long partnership. And Safran welcomed a group of Polytechnique Montréal students to the Paris Air Show this week to talk about the Group's latest R&D initiatives.

Our guests from Polytechnique Montréal had a private tour of Safran’s stand at the Paris Air Show on Tuesday, June 18th, then visited Safran Tech, the Group's R&D facility, the next day. They found out about the full breadth of Safran's businesses and technologies, and about careers in aerospace in general. Other students from Canadian universities toured Safran Tech with them, as part of Safran’s ongoing endeavor to deepen its ties with Canada, a country where it has been active for over 70 years.

Safran experts from various departments talked to students about their jobs and fields, and about the products and materials they are working on, in the hope of helping them bring their career plans into focus and interesting them in working in this sector.
