Safran shareholders visit Safran Transmission Systems plant near Paris

Finance

On November 9, 2017, about 15 Safran shareholders visited a Safran Transmission Systems plant in Colombes (greater Paris area), specialized in the production of high-performance mechanical power transmissions.

Safran Transmission Systems is the world leader in mechanical power transmission systems for commercial and military aircraft. The company designs, develops, produces and supports these systems, which tap mechanical energy from the airplane’s engines to power aircraft and engine systems. With facilities in both France and Poland, the company has 1,600 employees. Colombes is both corporate headquarters and one of its two production facilities, with more than 900 employees.

Chief Financial Officer Yann Lecois first gave a complete presentation of the company, including its history and business activities, following which the shareholders visited the production workshops at the plant.

They got a close-up look at Safran Transmission Systems’ outstanding expertise and state-of-the-art industrial facilities, organized in three lines: the production of housings and technically sophisticated gears, and the assembly line. The plant’s employees handle all operations needed to deliver products ready for installation on engines.
