Safran shareholders visit Safran Nacelles plant in Le Havre

Finance

Safran Nacelles is a global leader in aircraft engine nacelles, with more than 18,400 in service, racking up over 110,000 flight hours a day. The company operates in all market segments, from business and regional aircraft to the largest widebody jets.

Safran Nacelles is headquartered in Le Havre, France, with other facilities in the United Kingdom, Germany, Morocco, the United Arab Emirates, China and Russia. It has 3,800 employees, including 1,600 in Le Havre.

Shareholders were given an introduction to the company and its business sectors, along with a detailed explanation of how aircraft engine nacelles work. They were then taken on a guided tour of the plant, allowing them to see, for example, robots providing automated draping of composite materials, non-destructive testing and the assembly lines for the thrust reversers on the A320neo and A330neo. One of the highlights of their visit was a demonstration of how the plant uses both virtual and augmented reality in its operations.
