Safran Promotes STEM Careers among Kentucky Middle Schoolers
July 17, 2017
Safran Landing Systems in Kentucky partnered with the Northern Kentucky Chamber Foundation for this year's STEM Day Out program. Taking place over two days, one for boys and one for girls, the event allows middle school students across the region to explore STEM careers – those in science, technology, engineering and mathematics – by visiting local companies.
On July 11 and 13, Safran Landing Systems hosted middle schoolers at its wheels and brakes facility in Walton. After listening to a company presentation, the students were given a behind-the-scenes tour of the facility. The visit provided insight into the company's manufacturing processes and offered first-hand examples of how students can later use the STEM skills they are learning in school. In addition to gaining hands-on experience, students had the opportunity to interact with Safran employees.
As a leading innovator, Safran is committed to inspiring future scientists and engineers by supporting local educational projects across the United States.
