Safran organized a conference and the visit of SAIFEI for Shanghai JiaoTong ParisTech students

 

 

The students were warmly welcomed at SAIFEI manufacturing site with the speech of Daniel Vassy, General Manager of SAIFEI. SAIFEI is a 49/51 joint venture between Safran Electrical & Power and Shanghai Aircraft Manufacturing Company (COMAC), which designs and produces aircraft wiring systems.

After, the students had the opportunity to attend a conference held by Jean-Luc Doublet, Safran SVP – COMAC & AVIC Aircraft Programs, about “Air transport: Technologies and Globalization”. During this conference, several themes were presented as the evolution of the aerospace industry, the diverse current aerospace technologies in use, the alternative energy sources, the turbojet engines, etc.

Following the conference, XIAO Qian, deputy GM of SAIFEI, presented the Electrical Wiring Interconnection Systems (EWIS) to the students. This section was more technical and interactive, with many Q&As.

To complete the day, the future SJTU-ParisTech’s engineers visited SAIFEI production area. They were able to see, step-by-step, how aircraft harnesses are produced. The students showed much interest in activity, what makes us believe that future SAIFEI engineers are probably among them.

SJTU-ParisTech was built in 2012 from the strategic partnership between SJTU and the French Grandes Ecoles (Ecole Polytechnique, Mines ParisTech, Telecom ParisTech and ENSTA ParisTech). Safran, being part of SJTU-ParisTech founding members, is very pleased and devoted to contribute to the students' education.
