A full range of nacelle products from Safran Nacelles are on display at this week’s NBAA Business Aviation Convention & Exhibition (NBAA-BACE), equipping a spectrum of large cabin and mid-size business jets. The following “walkaround” of the static display at Henderson Executive Airport near Las Vegas highlights some of the aircraft exhibited at the event.

Also exhibited at NBAA-BACE is Bombardier’s Global 7500, billed as one of the world’s largest and longest-range business jets. With a capacity of up to 19 passengers, this aircraft’s complete nacelles on its GE Aviation Passport engines are provided by Nexcelle – the 50/50 joint venture of Safran Nacelles and’s Middle River Aerostructure Systems (ST Engineering). Safran Nacelles provides the mature target-type thrust reverser featuring lighter weight and very low internal drag during flight in the direct-flow configuration.

Included among the high-end business jets displayed at NBAA-BACE is an Airbus ACJ319 offered for VVIP charters by Comlux. As a version of Airbus’ popular A320ceo jetliner family, the 19-seat ACJ319 is powered by CFM International CFM56 engines that feature Safran Nacelles’ four-door thrust reversers. In service since 1988 on A320-series aircraft, the four-door thrust reverser is one of Safran Nacelles’ longest-running production programs, with thousands of units in service around the world.

Fresh from receiving its U.S. FAA airworthiness type certification prior to NBAA-BACE, the Citation Longitude is powered by Honeywell HTF7000 powerplants with Safran Nacelles’ PERT®-type thrust reversers. Configured to seat up to 12 passengers, the Longitude is one of several applications for Safran Nacelles’ thrust reversers on HTF7000 engines, with more than 2,400 units delivered by the company to date.

Another business jet with Honeywell HTF7000 engines and Safran Nacelles’ PERT®-type two-door thrust reversers is the Challenger 350 – categorized by Bombardier as the fastest business jet in history to reach the 300-delivery level. Prior to NBAA-BACE, Bombardier announced speed records with the 10-seat Challenger 350 between 10 of the top business aviation destinations across America during a circuit that was completed in 20.5 hours.

The Embraer Praetor 600 also is a mid-sized business jet with Honeywell HTF7000 engines and Safran Nacelles’ two-door thrust reversers. Deliveries of the Praetor 600 began in June 2019, with the aircraft providing an intercontinental range of 4,018 nautical miles while carrying four passengers. Praetor 600s are built on Embraer’s hybrid production line in Brazil that also produces Legacy 450 and Legacy 500 business jets – which are equipped as well with Safran Nacelles’ thrust reversers.
