Safran invites deserving students to the 2017 Paris Air Show
Safran funds merit-based scholarships for students as part of its partnerships with the Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Arts et Métiers (ENSAM), Université Pierre et Marie Curie (UPMC) and Paris Ecole Supérieure de Physique et de Chimie Industrielles (ESPCI). This year, it supported about 20 students – and invited them to visit its stands at the Paris Air Show on June 23, 2017.
Almost 50 people working on these programs took part, including the students on scholarships and their tutors, partners from ENSAM and UPMC, and several tutors from those schools.
The Paris Air Show is also an opportunity for other schools to find out more about Safran and its fields of expertise. That is why representatives from several dozen junior and secondary schools came to get to know the Group at its stand. This operation, organized by GIFAS aims to feature jobs and careers in production, electronics and even data-related fields.
“Attracting young candidates with scientific and technical backgrounds, and training them for tomorrow’s jobs, is the most important part of preparing the Group’s future. Safran is involved with its partner schools because this initiative tallies with our corporate commitment to fostering equal opportunity,” said Raphaëlle Giovannetti, head of HR development, at the ceremony.
Safran has been contributing to scholarship programs, enabling about 20 students to focus full-time on their studies, since 2014.
Besides funding their studies, Safran provides tutoring for grant-holders throughout their curricula. These tutors are all Safran employees, and meet their assigned students on a regular basis to monitor them throughout their studies and advise them as they build their career plan.
