Hosted by Kossi Djadjaglo, General Manager and CEO of Safran Power USA, the visit provided an opportunity to showcase this facility’s processes and innovations while highlighting Safran’s contributions to Florida’s aviation and aerospace sector.

Safran Electrical & Power – one of the world's leaders in electrical systems for civil and military aircraft – has been operating in Florida since 1978. During 2017, the company moved into a larger, 125,000-square-foot facility in Sarasota to support expanded operations. The site’s activities include the manufacturing of generators, switches, circuit breakers, and electrical contactors; along with MRO (maintenance, repair and overhaul) activities for aircraft electrical equipment – such as ram air turbines and air-driven generators. Over 250 people are employed by Safran Electrical & Power in Sarasota.

“This visit underscored the significance of our industry and highlighted the importance of international relations in fostering economic growth,” said Mr Djadjaglo. “We look forward to further opportunities for dialogue and partnership.”

Also represented in the Sunshine State of Florida are Safran Oil Systems; Safran Landing Systems; A-PRO (Aero-Precision Repair & Overhaul), a joint venture between Safran Landing Systems and Dassault Falcon Jet Corp; and PTI (Propulsion Technologies International), a joint venture between Safran Aircraft Engines and GE Aerospace.
