The AHS (American Helicopter Society) International's 73rd Annual Forum & Technology Display took place in Fort Worth, Texas, from May 9 to 11. Each year, the Society partners with member companies located within proximity of its annual event to offer facility tours for attendees. With this year’s Forum taking place in Texas, Safran hosted close to 50 participants at two of its Grand Prairie facilities on May 12.

During the tours, visitors learned about Safran’s strong presence in Texas, where the company employs more than 1500 people at seven facilities. While at the Safran Helicopter Engines operation, they were provided with a behind-the-scenes look at the various steps used in assembling, testing and repairing helicopter engines. In addition, visitors toured the Safran Electronics & Defense Avionics facility dedicated to maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) support & service of avionics equipment and design and manufacturing of the Integrated Cockpit Display System (ICDS).

The American Helicopter Society International is the world’s oldest and largest technical society dedicated to enhancing the understanding of vertical flight technology, operating as a non-profit education and technical organization. Since its founding in 1943 — just as the first US helicopter was being put into service — the Society has been the primary forum for interchange of information on vertical flight technology.
