Safran Helicopter Engines won the award of “Working Together” on the 15th Aerospace Laureate Awards Ceremony
On November 7th, 2022, the 15th Aerospace Laureate Awards Ceremony was held in Zhuhai. Safran Helicopter Engines won the award of “Working Together” alongside with Airworthiness Certification Center of CAAC, AVIC Harbin Aircraft Industry Group, Airbus Helicopters and AECC Harbin Dongan Engine.
Representing Safran Helicopter Engines, Robin ZHANG, Safran China Program Director, received the award on stage. He said: “Many thanks to the organizer for granting us this award. We are honored to be awarded together with our excellent partner AECC Harbin Dongan Engine. We look forward to the entering into service of the WZ16 engine and believe it will receive an excellent feedback from the Chinese market and operators. Once again, we would like to thank AECC and hope we will further strengthen our excellent cooperation and achieve fruitful results together in future.”
The WZ16 (also designated Ardiden 3C) was developed in cooperation with AECC Harbin Dongan and the Hunan Aerospace Propulsion Research Institute (HAPRI), both part of the AECC consortium. The Ardiden 3C was certified by EASA in Europe in April 2018 and by CAAC in China in October 2019. This is the first time that China and France have jointly developed an aero-engine in the way of risk sharing and reciprocal cooperation. The engine has high reliability and long repair interval, which has reached the level of international advanced civil engines. The WZ16 powers the AC352 medium helicopters and can meet the needs of other 7-ton twin engine helicopters. It is the first international jointly-developed civil helicopter engine certified by CAAC.
Facing the future, Safran Helicopter Engines will continue the close cooperation with AECC Harbin Dongan Engine to ensure the safe and stable operation and after-sales service of the WZ16 engine. Safran Helicopter Engines will also keep deepening its partnership with the Chinese helicopter industry to make greater achievements together.
