Safran Helicopter Engines China inaugurates its Training Center in Qingdao

On April 24th, the unveiling ceremony of Safran Helicopter Engines China Training Center in Qingdao was grandly held at the Administrative Committee of Qingdao Blue Valley High tech Zone.

Among the participants, we were pleased to welcome representatives of Qingdao Blue Valley High tech Zone, COHC Qingdao, Airbus Helicopter China, Qingdao United General Aviation Industrial Development Co. Ltd (UGA) and the executive Vice Mayor of Jimo. At the same time, guests from Qingdao Jimo District Customs, Development and Reform Bureau, Transportation Bureau, and Investment Promotion Committee were also present, as well as trainees from Qingdao Police Aviation and Shanghai Police Aviation.

The Training Center in Qingdao has been completed in 2021 and officially inaugurated in April this year on the occasion of the second training session.

Key milestones of the cooperation between Safran Helicopter Engines and Qingdao Jimo District:

• In 2019, the Jimo District Government of Qingdao, Qingdao UGA, and Safran Helicopter Engines signed a MOA on a series of cooperation projects at Tianjin Helicopter Exposition
• In February 2021, Safran Helicopter Engines China signed a MOU with the Qingdao Blue Valley High tech Zone Management Committee in terms of establishing a Training Center in Qingdao
• With the strong support of Qingdao Blue Valley High tech Zone, the training center was certified by Safran Helicopter Engines headquarters and conducted the first training course in September 2021
• In September 2022, Safran Helicopter Engines has invested in a new Arrius 2B2 mock-up especially for the Qingdao Training Center
• In April 2023, the Safran Helicopter Engines Qingdao Training Center was grandly unveiled.

Safran Helicopter Engines China has been providing professional engine training for Chinese customers since 2010. Until now, 738 trainees have been trained and have obtained certification. In the future, we will continue to enhance the training capabilities of the Qingdao Training Center and work together with Qingdao Jimo District and local partners to build the Safran Helicopter Engines Qingdao Training Center into a banner of the Qingdao general aviation industry.

Moreover, our Training Center is located near the Chinese assembly line of the Airbus Helicopter China H135 (powered by our Arrius 2B2).
