Business

FISITA World Automotive Congress is one of the biggest events in India’s automotive history. This forum, held in Chennai from 2 to 5 October 2018 is dedicated to industry experts, engineers and executives. It aims to exchange ideas and discuss the global trends that drive the automotive industry forward. Safran Engineering Services India was part of this prestigious event.

Safran Engineering Services India had a history of successfully working on complex automotive projects right from 2005 and has been recently working on some new age technologies in this domain. Therefore, it was no surprise that the company made its mark at this event too. Damodaran Subramanian, Managing Director of the site, delivered a keynote address on the topic "Manufacturing Automation and Artificial Intelligence for Automotive Industry".

A technical paper was also presented by Damodaran Subramanian, and authored along with SES India team Narendran Janardhanan and Mahesh Nair. This technical paper was selected as the outstanding paper Award, in the Autonomous and Connected Vehicle category. The paper, titled "Learning and Teaching Car" sheds light on an alternative way of looking at this innovative technology using Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence. This paper suggests the presence of a virtual co-driver to ease the driving process, especially in unfamiliar terrains and road conditions.

"Safran Engineering Services India is grooming and developing competencies to take advantage of the possibilities in this rapidly growing new domains and emerging technologies. This award is a significant indicator underlining this commitment", quoted Damodaran Subramanian.
