December 23, 2020

Each year during the holiday season, Safran sites across the United States organize outreach programs to assist those in need.

The Group and its employees are committed to strengthening and supporting local communities. With the ongoing Covid19 pandemic, many families are in even greater need this holiday season.

Here is an overview of how Safran employees have been giving back to local communities where they live and work:

Safran Aerosystems Services – College Park & Peachtree City, Georgia

The College Park & Peachtree City locations collected 280 items for the Bloom organization to support Georgia foster families.

Safran Aerosystems Services – Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin

Employees in Menomonee Falls gathered food items and baby items for the local food pantry. Additionally, gifts were given to a family that was sponsored through the Christmas Clearing Council.

Safran Oxygen Systems – Lancaster, New York

Items for donation to young men (ages 16-20) at Plymouth Crossroads – a not-for-profit organization that welcomes disconnected, abused, and homeless young men in Western New York – were  assembled by employees.

Non-perishable food items were collected for FeedMore WNY. Additionally, 42 employees donated their company gift of an 18 – 20 lb. turkey to this organization.

FeedMore WNY provides food, friendship, and skills training to its neighbors in need, and the nonprofit organization was extremely grateful for the Safran employees’ generosity.

Safran Electrical & Power – Denton, Texas

Safran Electrical & Power held a food drive and fundraiser benefitting the Denton Community Food Center. More than 790 pounds of food were collected, and the company raised $1,100 in donations. The Denton Community Food Center provides food for families in need and for individuals battling food insecurity.

Safran Cabin – Marysville, Washington

The nonprofit Marysville Community Food Bank was supported by Safran Cabin in Marysville through the offering of a collection site for this organization’s annual Toy Store.

The Toy Store is an outreach that provides toys, books and other special gifts free of charge for families in need during the holiday season. Through the generosity of Safran Cabin employees, and other local businesses, nearly 2,000 children (608 families) received toys and gifts this year.

Safran Electronics & Defense Avionics – Grand Prairie, Texas

For this holiday season, Safran Electronics & Defense Avionics partnered with the Grand Prairie Police and Fire Department for their annual Santa Cop Charity Event for families in the Grand Prairie area. Employees were able to take their gifts to a Grand Prairie police or fire station or make a monetary donation.

Optics 1 – Bedford, New Hampshire

Continuing its annual outreach, the Optics 1 subsidiary of Safran Electronics & Defense partners with Friends of Forgotten Children to help local families during the holidays.

This year, the company collected Christmas gifts for 100 children through the charity's Christmas Wish Stars program.

Additionally, a monetary donation was made. Friends of Forgotten Children is a non-profit that provides food, clothing, and holiday gifts for low income and at-risk families.

The company also supports Toys for Tots, with 2020 being the company's fifth year collecting new and unused toys for underprivileged children in the community.

Safran Seats (Gainesville, Texas)

For Thanksgiving, Safran Seats organized a food drive and donated over 345 pounds of non-perishable food to Volunteers in Service to Others (VISTO) – a non-profit organization dedicated to helping people in Cooke County during times of crisis through food, financial assistance and education.

In addition, the company organized an Angel Tree with the Cooke County Boys and Girls Club to provide Christmas gifts for families in need. Safran Seats donated presents for over 40 children in the local area.
