Safran Electrical & Power Participates in Industry Week

Business

The 7th Industry Week was held this week! For the occasion, Safran Electrical & Power welcomed Carole Delga, President of the Occitania/Pyrenees-Mediterranean Region, to the Villemur-sur-Tarn site, and is participating in the Industry Showroom at the Capitol Square in Toulouse from March 23 to 25, 2017.

The President of the Occitania/Pyrenees-Mediterranean Region is visiting the Villemur-sur-Tarn factory.

The President of the Occitania/Pyrenees-Mediterranean Region was invited to Villemur-sur-Tarn for a presentation of Safran Electrical & Power and a visit of the workshops. The Villemur-sur-Tarn factory produces harnesses and electrical installations for civil and military aircraft and offers customer support and configuration management for Airbus and Airbus Helicopters. Safran has deep roots in Occitania. The Group is the region’s third largest employer in the aerospace industry, with 3,200 employees. Its new site, Safran Toulouse, also illustrates its ties to the area.

This visit was an opportunity for the Region to highlight its support of the aerospace industry and its wide network of subcontractors. "Occitania/Mediterranean-Pyrenees is the heart of the European aerospace industry with 86,000 jobs and more than 800 businesses. The inauguration of the Toulouse Safran site last October further strengthened this leadership. Safran is mostly focused on developing the airplane of tomorrow, and its strategic and industrial positioning echoes the important challenges our Region is responding to. Furthermore, Safran's branch in Villemur-sur-Tarn contributes to maintaining our region’s attractiveness and industrial employment opportunities," Carole Delga pointed out.
