Safran earns responsible supplier relations certification

Purchasing

Safran was awarded Groupwide responsible supplier relations (RFR for “Relations Fournisseur Responsables”) certification during last summer. This certification is embedded in its purchasing strategy and rewards the quality of Group’ relationships with its suppliers.
François Sireyjols, VP Supplier Relation, explains why and how.

“This label ties in with Safran’s purchasing policy, which is aimed at building trust-based relationships with his suppliers to improve our performance and our competitiveness together”, François Sireyjol says. “As our products’ life cycles are long, we need our relationships with our suppliers to be sustainable and balanced and thus build win-win partnerships and secure our programs’ long-term prospects in optimal conditions. With obtaining this label, it is also a real opportunity of challenging ourselves, and encouraging ourselves within our direction. Some of our customers are already asking us to show we are committed to fulfilling our corporate social responsibility.”

The look brought by the Committee of Allocation, and the exchanges with others certified companies as well as, bring the Group to improve its mechanisms, for example the wording and the application of its General Purchase Terms & Conditions (CGA), or very structured organization Safran has deployed about on-time payment through the “Procure To Pay (P2P)” approach.
