Safran celebrates National Minnesota Day
March 2, 2021
In honor of National Minnesota Day – celebrated annually on March 1 – Safran is highlighting its presence in this state, which is home to the Safran Aero Boosters subsidiary, Safran Test Cells.
Manufacturing is one of the top sectors in Minnesota and accounts for 15% of its GDP. Safran is proud to contribute to this industry through its test cell engineering facility.
Safran Aero Boosters designs, develops and produces modules, equipment and test cells for aerospace engines. Its Safran Test Cells subsidiary is a world leader in engineering of test cells for all aero-engine types: civil turbofans and military turbojets; powerplants for helicopters and regional aircraft; as well as auxiliary power units.
Based in New Brighton, Safran Test Cells’ key customers include the military, aerospace engine manufacturers, engine MRO operators, and major airlines, such as Delta, United, and American.
Safran Test Cells employees are committed to giving back to the local community as evidenced by their support of Habitat for Humanity. In October 2019, a group of volunteers representing all departments of the Safran Test Cells business in Minnesota helped build a home in Roseville, Minnesota to provide lodging to those in need before the cold winter months.
