Safran announces major improvements to SBH® service offering for helicopter engines

Safran Helicopter Engines has announced major improvements to its Support-By-the-Hour (SBH®) service offering, especially concerning the training of customer operators' teams. An increased and comprehensive range of training modules has been integrated into this by the hour service offering.

SBH® now includes training

Customers will now benefit from recurrent training courses at no additional cost for their maintenance technicians and pilots. This applies to all existing, new, renewed contracts, with quantities adapted to each fleet’s size. Courses can be chosen from a panel of advanced modules. Specific training will be offered to pilots to enable them to extend the life of their engines. Customers are free to choose from one of Safran worldwide training locations that is most convenient to their needs. 

New Health Monitoring features

The use of the Health Monitoring Premium service is included in all SBH® contracts. This service which allows tracking of engine behavior and results in improved engine life and availability has also been improved with new features. Customers now have direct online access to analysis and maintenance recommendations from Safran experts as soon as they are available, bringing quicker and easier access than existing monthly reports.

The customized recommendations are illustrated with a focused and detailed report specifying results of data analysis and suggested actions to be taken. Based on the recommendations, customers also have the possibility to record maintenance actions taken or inspection results via a customer feedback section. An enriched dashboard displays new indicators and latest highlights to assist operators in priority management. A direct fleet overview is available 24/7 for an instant global view.

Data collection systems

Health Monitoring compatibility with helicopter systems is also expanding. For helicopters not equipped with a data collection system, an exclusive Safran offer is now available: Safran Electronics & Defense Helicom V2+ data collection box is proposed to SBH® customers at favorable price conditions.
