Safran and JAC strengthen their partnership at Heli-Expo

Business

At Heli-Expo, Safran Helicopter Engines and Japan Aerospace Corporation (JAC) celebrate SBH®contracts signing for 66 engines and the trust-based partnership that provides high-performance support for helicopter operators flying in Japan.

JAC is a Safran leading partner in helicopter engine support and has rights to provide support and services in Japan including the set up of SBH® contracts for Japanese operators.

To support engines under SBH®contracts in the highest timely manner JAC continuously invests in several assets including Arriel 2E engines. Thanks to SBH® contracts, Japanese operators have a full and smooth control of their budget and engine maintenance costs: the expenses are clear and predictable. The value of the engine is optimized and operators benefit from recurrent yearly training for their technicians and pilots, with training seats credits related to the contract, and adapted to the fleet size. SBH® contract brings together a MRO coverage and all selected services provided by the OEM through JAC, delivering a turnkey solution at a guaranteed hourly rate.

JAC has been Safran Helicopter Engines trusted distributor for Japanese operators since 1961 and has solidify its position since 2022 as the Certified Maintenance Center for Safran rotorcraft engines in Japan.

"We would like to celebrate today the signature of SBH® contracts and the partnership based on a deep relationship of trust which enables us to provide support at the highest level in Japan thanks to the expertise of Japan Aerospace Corporation" said Mathieu Albert, Safran Helicopter Engines EVP, Support and Services.

Today, more than 650 Safran rotorcraft engines are flying in Japan, operated by more than 110 customers.
