Safran at the Aerospace & Defense Manufacturing & R&D Summit

Strategy

Safran was among the companies present during the Aerospace & Defense Manufacturing & R&D Summit, held last month in Dallas, Texas. This key event brought together leading manufacturing and engineering executives, innovative suppliers, and solution providers to explore the industry’s latest trends, technological innovations, and research developments.

Brandon Beaver, the Director of Operations & General Manager at Safran Electrical & Power

Key topics addressed during the summit included eVTOL (electric vertical take-off and landing) aircraft, additive manufacturing, supply chain, emerging technologies, workplace policies, and workforce health and safety.

As a leading player in aerospace, Safran was invited to participate in a panel discussion centered on the eVTOL market. Brandon Beaver, the Director of Operations & General Manager at Safran Electrical & Power, joined Honeywell’s David Waters – who is the company’s Global Director, Product Management - Aerospace & Defense Sensing – for the panel moderated by Julie Newman, a satellite program Chief Engineer at Boeing.

Brandon shared details of how the Safran group is addressing the new air mobility market, working in the urban air, logistics and inter-city commuter segments. Key technology areas include propulsion, equipment, flight control and avionics, and interiors. Additionally, he gave an overview of Safran’s partnerships with start-ups in the new air mobility market, while also addressing the use of alternative fuels and Safran’s commitment to sustainable aviation.
