Safran in the 2018 Top 100 Global Innovators
For the 8th year running, Safran has been ranked among the 100 most innovative organizations in the world, according to the “2018-19 Top 100 Global Innovators” rank, published on January 23 by Clarivate Analytics.
This report lists the world's top 100 innovators on a yearly basis. The ranking is established according to four criteria: the number of patents published by the organization along with their quality, international scope, and level of influence.
Safran's appearance in the ranking for the eighth consecutive year is a strong indicator of the Group's ability to innovate and safeguard its expertise. In 2017, the Group invested €1.4 billion in Research and Development. In 2018, the technical and intellectual property teams set a new record with more than 1,000 patented inventions in only one year. The Group now holds more than 40,000 Industrial Property titles for technical innovations, it is almost three times more than ten years ago.
According to Jean-Marc Brunel, Safran Group Intellectual Property Vice President: “Safran fosters sustained technical excellence and technological differentiation to ensure our ability to address tomorrow’s business challenges. Its permanent place in the highest IP rankings is evidence of this innovation, and of the capabilities of our teams to develop our IP portfolio.”
