Paris Air Show: a major HR opportunity for Safran
Safran’s human resources teams were out in force at the Paris Air Show, which provides a perfect chance to showcase what we do and the career opportunities we offer. Here are some of the highlights from a week packed with jobs-related events, contacts and conversations.
Safran always has a strong presence at the Paris Air Show, especially via our stand and chalet. We’re also involved in the Careers Plane, which offers a 3,000-sq.m. (32,000-sq.ft) space with a product exhibition zone and separate area where companies, engineering schools and other training providers in the sector can talk with young visitors.
Safran used the Careers Plane at this year’s event to promote jobs in production and maintenance. The program included augmented reality and virtual reality demonstrations, a borescope inspection of a CFM56 engine, an animation showing how a Cirrus NG aircraft seat is assembled, and meetings with Safran employee ambassadors and HR staff about current and future jobs.
Among the many events at the Safran stand and chalet were visits by Elles Bougent, an NGO that inspires female students to take technical and scientific subjects, and Féminisons les Métiers de l’Aéronautique, which encourages girls to pursue careers in aerospace. Additional highlights included the renewal of the agreement between Safran and the French Ministry of Education and Youth Affairs, a partnership signed with École des Ponts ParisTech engineering school, and a lunch with the principals and staff responsible for industry relations from various Safran partner schools and universities.
