The CBS television action series SEAL Team prioritizes authenticity in its depiction of an elite sub-unit of U.S. Navy SEALs. When Special Warfare Operator, Master Chief Jason Hayes and his team require increased situational awareness, the show’s producers use a top-shelf solution: the ECOTI from Safran Electronics & Defense subsidiary Optics 1.

ECOTI is a night vision enhancement and visual augmentation system that incorporates two thermal detection modes and three observation modes. It improves situational awareness while also increasing threat detection capabilities.

This night vision accessory is used in extreme low-light, no-light, or foliated conditions and comes in two configurations: one with an internal battery, and another with an external battery.  ECOTI includes a HUD (Heads Up Display) that provides real-time, geo-reference navigation/route execution.

Actor Justin Melnick – who portrays Special Warfare Operator Brock Reynolds on SEAL Team – demonstrated ECOTI’s capabilities in a behind-the-scenes feature on Instagram.

Optics 1, based in Bedford, New Hampshire, is a global leader in full-service design and production of electro-optic and navigation systems, providing products for military and law enforcement personnel. Its portfolio includes devices and modules for surveillance and reconnaissance missions for dismounted soldier, airborne, naval and land vehicle operations.

SEAL Team airs Wednesdays on the CBS TV Network at 9:00 EST.
