Business

May 14, 2021

In honor of National Washington Day – celebrated annually on May 10 – Safran highlighted its presence in the “Evergreen State.”

Aerospace is one of the leading industries that drives Washington state's economy. As a major U.S. hub for the Safran Group, Washington state is home to four of its subsidiaries: Safran Cabin, Safran Electrical & Power, Safran Electronics & Defense, and Safran Landing Systems.

Key Safran activities in the state include engineering, lighting solutions, ventilation systems, and water and waste systems.

Equipment and interiors for airplane cabins

As the world's leading supplier of cabin interiors for regional, narrowbody and widebody jetliners – as well as for business and military aircraft – Safran Cabin has several facilities in the greater Seattle area, including Marysville for the manufacturing of advanced composites and engineered materials to support the Safran Group’s aircraft cabin interiors business activity.

Safran Cabin Materials, Inc. – located in Marysville and Newport – provides a wide range of products and materials, including honeycomb cores, prepreg composite materials, adhesives, core details and semi-finished panels for internal applications and major aerospace customers worldwide.

Greenpoint Technologies is a premier business jet completion center, creating superior aircraft products and VIP completions in Bothell, Marysville, and Moses Lake.

Everett-based Northwest Aerospace Technologies is an engineering services company specializing in large transport category aircraft modification programs that are certified by U.S./European FAA and EASA airworthiness authorities.

Everett also is home to Safran Ventilation Systems, which designs, modifies, manufactures and repairs ventilation equipment for aerospace and military applications; along with Safran Water & Waste Aero Systems, a provider of integrated water and waste systems.

Wiring, engineering and avionics

Safran Electrical & Power, an industry reference in aircraft electrical systems, is represented as well in Everett with its wiring and engineering activities. In 2018, the company inaugurated its Wiring Future State Lab – a research and certification laboratory created to support technological developments and increase value-added solutions for its customers.

In Everett, Safran Landing Systems has a team dedicated to engineering activities.

Redmond-based IDD Aerospace (part of Safran Electronics & Defense Avionics) provides flight deck and cabin interior lighting solutions as part of the Group's leadership in avionics.
