#LoveMySafranJob: “Cultural diversity makes us more innovative”
From the restaurant industry to aerospace, from learning a new language to leading a multicultural team, Silvia's journey is a true example of determination. Originally from Mexico, she joined Safran Cabin in Marysville (United States) in 2014, where she is now a production supervisor. Read the story of this dedicated employee, passionate about continuous learning.

“Learning and improving every day”
When Silvia arrived in the United States, she faced a major challenge: the language barrier. Determined to overcome it, she decided to learn English, an essential skill for her professional growth. After three years working in the restaurant industry, she felt the need to “aim higher.” A valuable piece of advice from her English teacher became a turning point in her career: “He suggested I look for opportunities in Washington State, where the aerospace industry was booming. That idea never left me.”
With determination, Silvia improved her English and began her career in the aerospace sector, first at Zodiac and later at Safran. Starting as an operator, her enthusiasm and passion or motivation to succeed quickly propelled her forward. "I was immediately drawn to this field: I could learn and improve every day." Silvia then made a decisive choice: "My husband’s work required us to move frequently, but I loved my job so much that this time I told him, ‘I’m not moving; this is where I want to grow.’"
“In production, quality and safety come first.”
In 2014, Silvia joined Safran Cabin, starting as an operator on the shop floor, then as a quality inspector before becoming a supervisor in the production department for honeycomb panels used in aircraft cabins – galleys, lavatories, overhead bins, and even bulletproof cockpit doors.
As a production supervisor, she ensures that every step of the manufacturing process adheres to the strict quality and safety standards of the aerospace industry.
"Passengers’ lives depend on our work. It’s a huge responsibility, and every procedure must be followed 100%. Quality and safety come first."
The responsibilities of her role are a great source of pride for Silvia. "When I tell my children, ‘Those parts you see in the plane, we helped make them,’ I feel an immense sense of pride."
"Learing and sharing"
Today, Silvia leads a team of 14 people from diverse backgrounds: Mexico, the Philippines, the United States… "We learn so much from each other, thanks to our different ways of working and thinking. Diversity is a valuable asset for our team; it makes us stronger and more innovative."
People are at the heart of Silvia’s approach to work. "I love fostering a positive work environment, being in direct contact with my team, motivating them, ensuring everything runs smoothly, and delivering products to the client under the best conditions." She also plays a key role in supporting and training her team at every stage, from machine operation to compliance with standards.
For Silvia, learning and sharing knowledge are key motivators.
"I want to keep learning and growing at Safran Cabin.Nothing is impossible when you know what you want and put all your energy into achieving it."
