Join Safran to take part in France’s largest drone program

Human resources

The French army chose Safran’s Patroller tactical drone in April 2016 to replace its current fleet of Sperwer drones. Safran is recruiting key personnel to support this major program.

Developed by Safran Electronics & Defense, the Patroller is a latest-generation intelligence and surveillance drone offering an array of innovative functions: very-high-resolution optronic sensors, high-speed data transmission, integration in civil airspace, etc. Its payload capacity, endurance and scalable design mean that it is apt for a broad spectrum of military and homeland security missions. It will be produced in France.

The French army contract provides for the production of Patroller systems, with the first to be delivered at the end of 2018. Safran Electronics & Defense is already working on the design, development and integration of different modules and assemblies for this high-tech surveillance system, all under tight deadlines. This work will culminate in qualification and certification tests, then delivery to the French army. To meet this exciting challenge, Safran is now recruiting, in particular, software architects, digital radio engineers and electronics design engineers.

The Patroller?s service life will continue well beyond initial deliveries in 2018, since Safran Electronics & Defense will provide through-life maintenance for at least 12 years. The company is also carving out a position in the drone export market, which promises a very enriching career for candidates chosen by Safran to participate in this program, full of innovative technologies and exciting opportunities.
