Safran Electronics & Defense Beacons offers an innovative range of Emergency Locator Transmitters that meet the highest standards of aviation safety.

 

ULTIMA-S is a Survival Emergency Locator Transmitter designed for crew members. Combining the latest innovations in design and performance, this ELT is certified to meet the most recent requirements for non-rechargeable lithium batteries set by the FAA and EASA (DO-227A and (E)TSO-C126c / (E)TSO-C142b ; ETSO for European Technical Standard Order). Ultima-S is also optionally equipped with a distress signal acknowledgment function based on the Galileo satellite constellation's Return Link System (RLS). Airbus and Boeing have selected Ultima-S as Buyer Furnished Equipment (BFE).

ULTIMA-DT (Distress Tracking) is the world's first certified autonomous fixed distress and tracking beacon under the new GADSS (Global Aeronautical Distress and Safety System) regulations. Suitable for all types of commercial aircraft, the beacon automatically triggers upon detecting any abnormal flight signal, sending a real-time secure distress signal and precise aircraft positioning to rescue teams. It is also the world's first ELT certified in accordance with ETSO-C142b for the qualification of non-rechargeable lithium batteries.

Ultima-DT is standard Supplier Furnished Equipment (SFE) on all Airbus aircraft programs.
