Death of Louis de Spirlet, former Chairman of the Board of Directors
The staff at Safran Aero Boosters are deeply saddened by the news of the death on December 9 of Louis de Spirlet who was the Chairman of the company’s Board of Directors from 1993 to 2003 before being appointed Honorary Chairman.
Holding a doctorate in law and a degree in economics, Louis had an illustrious career within Société Générale de Banque and played a pivotal role in the 1990s when FN Moteurs, which later became Techspace Aero and then Safran Aero Boosters, was experiencing difficulties. He will be remembered for his great personality that was well-known and widely appreciated, his willingness to maintain industrial operations in the Liège region as well as his sophisticated kindness and affability.
